Peace and Service Committee

The tragedy in Kosovo over the last year serves to remind us once again of the need for creative Christian responses to violence in our world. The Peace and Service Committee seeks to make the traditional Peace Church doctrines apply to the types of violence and discord that we encounter in the world around us.

Highlights

• We continued to sponsor the Arts and Peace Festival running as an alternative to the Abbotsford Air Show, which returned this year.
• Provided some funding for the book published by Seniors for Peace commemorating the CO's who tree planted on Vancouver Island during WWII
• Participated in a conference on Conflict Resolution for churches
• Provided resources to Constituent Churches for Remembrance Day Sunday
• Provided funding to local Mennonite High School and Bible Colleges to purchase peace material for their libraries.
